Respect for the sector. The crocheted poet Serlui won the Yehuda Amichai Hebrew Poetry Prize for 2022. Serlui’s book “You Are Afraid of Your Flesh” was chosen from among 87 worthy works by the jury for the prize.
The award ceremony will take place at Mishkanim Shananim in Jerusalem after Hanukkah.
From the judges’ reasoning
– “The language of the poems manages to combine the Israeli language with the language of the originals and create a new poetic language unique to this book.”
– “Succeeds in transcending to create new prayers”. – “makes good use of silences and interruptions”.
– “Produces a cycle that has one part of poems and poetic speech that starts from the beginning of the book to the end”.
– “The size of her poetry is the size of the key to the heart and soul.”
– “A plot is added to the book of poems, which rarely happens in books of poetry.”
– “The result is very moving. An emotion that keeps building up in the book.”
For all these, the judges found the poet suitable to win the Yehuda Amichai Prize for Hebrew poetry for 2022.
