The 46th International Jazz Festival in the French city of Marciac brought together the most influential artists in the world.

As reported by Day.Az, the special guest of the festival was Azerbaijani jazz pianist, Honored Artist Shahin Novrasli.

As part of the festival, he met with students from Aretha Franklin College before a concert dedicated to the memory of American jazz master, pianist, composer and teacher Ahmed Jamal (Frederick Russell Jones). Sh. Nowrasli held a master class for young musicians.

One of the memorable moments was the anniversary of the death of the famous pianist Ahmed Jamal at the Marciac Jazz Festival this year. The jazzman was born in 1930 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and moved to Chicago in 1950, where he converted to Islam and changed his name to Ahmed Jamal. He passed away in 2023.

It should be noted that the essence of the Marsiak Jazz Festival lies in its ability to overcome boundaries, as evidenced by its eclectic and inspiring program.

The festival will last until August 4.
