It was during Easter last year that it became known that Ingvar Hirdwall had passed away.
The Swedish actor, best known to many from the crime series “Beck” where he played the red-haired neighbor with a support collar, was 88 years old.
A very special tribute
– Actor Ingvar Hirdwall passed away peacefully at home on Maundy Thursday. He was 88 years old. He is remembered by family, friends, and colleagues, his agent stated when the death was announced.
Hirdwall is survived by his wife, actress Marika Lindström (77). They married in 1975.

– We did not intend to keep it a secret; colleagues and friends know about it. But it’s not something you shout from a megaphone, Lindström says, according to Expressen.
Lindström is currently featured in the film “Biodlaren”. The film deals with suicide and the very issue of not talking about it.
– The film I am working on addresses this issue. It’s no secret, but it’s difficult to talk about.
The widow further states that she feels a sense of relief after sharing her husband’s cause of death.
– It was a good opportunity, and I am glad that I was finally able to say it.
Hirdwall and Lindström had two children together.
