The administrator of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) expressed the hope of successfully controlling dengue through regular and special programs. Muh. Sher Ali.
He expressed this optimism during an exchange with the media after direct supervision of ‘activities implemented at the field level to control mosquitoes’ from Dhaka South City Corporation’s Emergency Operations Center (Shitlakshya Hall) at 11 am on Wednesday (September 4).
Administrator of DSCC said, ‘Larviciding and adulticide is being done regularly to control dengue by destroying Aedes mosquito larvae and killing live and flying mosquitoes and these activities are continuing. Besides, the list of dengue patients admitted to different hospitals in the area under Dhaka South City Corporation from the Health Department, we conduct special mosquito control activities according to the addresses of those patients. You have also witnessed live how that special program is conducted. In addition, the Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperative Adviser has directed to make preventive activities in dengue control more beautiful, fair and smooth. As part of that, Dhaka South City Corporation is conducting regular and special programs to control dengue. We are hopeful that we will be able to successfully control dengue disease through these activities.
Dengue control this year the natural environment was favorable, said Dr. Sher Ali said, ‘You know that the Aedes mosquito cannot survive if the temperature is more than 35 degrees Celsius. The temperature was above 35 degrees Celsius till a certain point this year. As a result, the mosquito density was greatly reduced due to the temperature and the environment was very favorable for us. We are hopeful, there will be no problem this year. If there is any kind of problem, we will respond immediately.’
Before the speech, the administrator of DSCC witnessed the activities implemented at the field level to control dengue through Facebook Live and gave necessary directions.
At this time, among others, the chief executive officer of DSCC. Mizanur Rahman, Secretary Mohammad Bashirul Haque Bhunya, Acting Chief Health Officer Dr. Fazle Shamsul Kabir, Supervisor Engineer Mahtab Ahmed, System Analyst. Abu Taib Rokan, Executive Engineer Noor Mohammad and others were present.
