The YDD Corporation press service commented on the video of workers injured by the flames that appeared online. The video shows men with terrible burns. The company explained why they were not taken to the medical facility by ambulance, reports a correspondent for the eKaraganda.kz website.
A terrifying video is being shared online, which was filmed almost immediately after the incident at the ferroalloy plant in Karaganda. The recording shows the state of eight workers at the plant where the flames erupted.
All the victims were taken to Makazhanova’s clinic in serious condition. Two of them are in intensive care, the rest are in the burn department. Today, the press service of the Karaganda Region Health Department reported that the men’s condition remains critical:
“Currently, medical care is being provided to eight injured workers of the Karaganda Ferroalloy Plant. All patients are in the Multidisciplinary Hospital named after Professor Makazhan. For additional medical care, on behalf of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, employees of the National Scientific Center for Traumatology and Orthopedics named after Academician N.D. Batpenov, headed by its director Olzhas Bekarisov, arrived in Karaganda. The medical team included experienced burn specialists and resuscitators. The capital’s specialists noted that local doctors provided all the medical care that was necessary at that time. The condition of six victims remains critical, extremely serious. Another two patients are in the intensive care unit. The fight for the health and lives of patients continues, all necessary medical care is being provided,” the regional health department reported.
The YDD Corporation press service also reported that the company had organized the arrival of a group of the best doctors from Russia in the shortest possible time to provide the necessary medical care. At the moment, additional doctors from Turkey are expected to arrive. They also explained why the victims were not transported by an ambulance team:
“Regarding the delivery of the injured at the plant to the hospital by official transport. Due to the remote location of the plant and the need to provide emergency assistance, it was decided to provide first aid ourselves and promptly deliver the injured to the hospital by the duty car located on the territory of the plant. The duty car delivered the injured to the Makazhanova hospital. All necessary first emergency and outpatient care was provided,” the company reported.
The press service says that the company is providing all possible assistance to the victims and is in constant contact with the hospital’s medical staff and the victims’ relatives.
Let us recall that the incident occurred yesterday, July 20. A criminal case has been opened on this fact.
