An ultra-orthodox boy from Ashdod was recorded as he turned to the road with his brother, and was run over by a vehicle that did not stop at the crosswalk • The boy miraculously escaped with minor injuries • A resident: “There is no culture of caution on the roads in the district. The children jump onto the road unimpeded”
In a video recording published on the Ashdods website, an ultra-orthodox boy can be seen jumping onto the road on Yehuda Hanasi Street with his brother, and is run over by a vehicle that did not stop at the crosswalk.
The boy miraculously escaped with minor injuries.
“This is a scary vision,” said one of the residents who arrived after the event. “There is no culture of caution on the roads in the district. The children jump onto the road unhindered, and drivers are in no hurry to slow down before approaching the crosswalk.
“In this case, once again the story ended with miracles,” he said. “But how long will we not learn?! Are we waiting for a huge tragedy to wake up??! What is happening to us?”
