A civilian fired into the air tonight, after a man who was apparently unsettled began attacking civilians on Jeremiah Street in Jerusalem | Police arrested a suspect and are collecting findings at the scene of the incident
Many police forces were called to Jeremiah Street in Jerusalem this evening (Tuesday), due to a report of gunfire in the air during an attempt by civilians to block an eccentric who began attacking passers-by. There were no casualties in the incident.
The incident, it should be noted, took place during the attempted attack in the Old City, which initially raised the concern that it was a terrorist incident.
Police said the investigation of the incident revealed that following the attack on passers-by by a man who was apparently mentally disturbed. Who even used pepper spray, civilians began shouting for fear of a terrorist attack, an armed citizen who passed by fired into the air and then left the scene.
Police officers who arrived at the scene of the incident began collecting findings and evidence and the suspect in the disturbance and assault of passers-by was taken for questioning at the police station. The case is being investigated.
