The Adamo Boari Room of Palace of Fine Arts It was the site where the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Mexico and the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (INBALL), through the National Literature Coordination (CNL), they gave the poet Hortensia Carrasco Santos he XVII Praxis Editorial Poetry Prize for his work Polyphoneme.
The journalist from Puebla also stated during the ceremony:
“It is a book that I began to love since I began writing it, and although it had its corrections, I continued writing with great enthusiasm, with great affection. This time I chose sounds as my thematic axis and it was through Polyphoneme that I was developing them”.

For his part, the poet Juan Galván Paulín also stressed that Carrasco Santos is an author with her own poetic voice, and that her lyrics are vibrant, deep and sincere”, perhaps like feeling “inside a rocky ocean, where extracting poetry is like throwing the net, pulling out many things and suddenly the sardine, which is the poem, finally appears and is terribly luminous”.
In contrast, Ángel Carlos Sánchez, writer, asserted:
“She is one of the few poets that I have met, for example, in a march, supporting a social movement, that is, the poet in general tends to isolate himself, but on the contrary, this poet, Hortensia Carrasco, listens beyond what native and listens to other voices, that’s why I liked this book so much Polyphonemepractically any poem is a polyphoneme.”

Finally, the writer Iliana Rodriguezalso a member of the jury, read the minutes, signed by her, Antonio Salinas and Jeremías Maquines, in which it was written.
“It is a work that manages to sustain itself from beginning to end, with its own, intense, musical phrasing, which reminds us of our animal condition and of being incomplete humans. It is a poem that has a naked, allegorical style. Polyphoneme She is like a goddess who creates the world, although then she stumbles over it, which makes us think about the absurdity of the human being.”
The work of Hortensia Carrasco Santos was chosen from among 104 jobs received. And the prize consists of the publication of the collection of poems, the delivery of a complete collection of books published by Editorial Praxis and a plastic work.
In addition to this award, the Puebla poet has received the Navachiste Inter-American Poetry Prize for Young Creators 1999was winner of the Adversary Poetry Tournament in the ring and was the 2014 La Maga Poetry Prize, awarded by Bruma Editorial.
