Hospitals under pressure due to high number of RSV patients

The number of RSV infections is gradually reaching its peak. Children under the age of four in particular become infected with the respiratory syncytial virus, which causes an infection of the respiratory tract. The pediatric departments of the Jessa Hospital in Hasselt, UZ Leuven, UZ Ghent and Hospital East Limburg no longer have a bed available. Most of their patients suffer from RSV. There is an RSV peak every year.
