Thus, the TV channel devoted an article on its website to the decision of the Moroccan Parliament to reconsider its relations with the European legislative body and to submit them to a global evaluation against the backdrop of the biased campaign of the EP.

The announcement was made in a statement published on Monday, following a joint meeting of the two chambers of the Moroccan Parliament, which was marked by the interventions of the presidents and representatives of the different parliamentary groups, as well as those of deputies without political affiliation, writes the media under the title “Morocco strongly condemns the statements of the European Parliament”.

The Parliament thus denounced the biased campaign targeting the Kingdom, the latest act of which was the EP resolution adopted on January 19, 2023, specifies ”Kanal 5”, which takes up extracts from the declaration of the two Chambers of the Moroccan parliament.

The media outlet also returns to the position expressed on Saturday by the High Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ), which expressed its strong condemnation of the unfounded allegations contained in the EP resolution.

“These unfounded accusations distort the facts and cast doubt on the legality and legitimacy of the legal proceedings, some of which have already been judged and others are ongoing,” notes “Kanal 5”, citing a press release from the CSPJ.

And to specify that the Council vigorously denounced the approach of the European Parliament which arrogated to itself the right to judge Moroccan justice in a manifestly hostile manner, harming the judicial institutions of the Kingdom and giving no consideration to their independence.

More importantly, the CSPJ categorically rejects any interference in justice or attempt to influence its decisions, especially since some of the cases mentioned are still before the courts, the television channel emphasizes.

The media also mentions the position of the Arab parliament which “recorded with great discontent” the flagrant and continuous interference of the EP in the internal affairs of Morocco.

The institution rejected the instrumentalization of human rights as well as the false and unfounded accusations of the European Parliament, with the aim of interfering in the judicial system of Arab states, the media noted.

The Arab parliament rejected all external attempts to interfere in the affairs of Arab states, demanding that the European Union “immediately stop assuming a role of monitoring the human rights situation in Arab countries” and verify the accuracy of the information it receives, concludes “Kanal 5”.
