The holding of COP29 in Azerbaijan is an indicator of great confidence in the country.
As Day.Az reports, the chairman of the Public Association “Environmental Education and Monitoring” Gamza Yusubova told Trend about this on Thursday.
According to her, this is also one of the key indicators of Azerbaijan’s transition to a green economy.
“Similar events are held in developed countries. Azerbaijan meets all the criteria at the highest level,” said the chairman of the NGO.
She noted that the head of the Azerbaijani state had defined a policy in the field of “green energy”. “By 2030, the production of green, renewable energy in our country is planned to increase to 30 percent. A lot of work is being done in this area. One of the priority issues in Azerbaijan is the growth of green energy production,” Yusubova said.
The NGO chairman added that the potential of renewable energy sources in the country is quite high, and not only Karabakh, but also Eastern Zangezur and Nakhchivan were declared “green energy” zones.
