jpnn.com – JAKARTA – The attorney for Surabaya’s crazy rich Budi Said, Hotman Paris Hutapea, admitted that he was sad about the handling of the case against his client regarding the purchase of Antam gold.
Hotman is sad because in the case Budi Said was previously named a victim. However, now he has been named a defendant.
“I am sad, my heart is crying. Why did the prosecutor previously say that Budi Said was the victim, but now Budi Said is the defendant for the same problem? In fact, the prosecutors are one unit,” said Hotman in front of the Jakarta Corruption Court (Tipikor) trial, Tuesday (3/9).
Hotman feels that the prosecution’s allegations this time are contrary to the previous case where the party designated as the perpetrator is the Head of the Precious Metals Boutique (BELM) Surabaya 01 Endang Kumoro and friends.
In the previous civil case, Budi Said was declared the winner up to the judicial review (PK) level.
In this trial, the team of lawyers led by Hotman Paris seemed to have difficulty in further revealing the case because the witnesses presented mostly answered that they did not know when asked.
Hotman’s questions included the execution in accordance with the PK decision which ordered Antam to hand over 1.1 tons of gold to Budi Said.
The legal team also revealed that the statement letter used by the prosecutor to charge the defendant had previously been reported by Antam and had been issued an SP3 by the East Java Regional Police.
