The dream of having your own home can now come true for youth, they launched housing credit for young people in Colombia.

The National Savings Fund -FNA- launched a line of credit so that young Colombians can obtain their own home.

The National Government, through the Ministry of Housing, developed and implemented the program ‘Young Owners’.

With this initiative, young people between 18 and 28 years of age can request a loan for up to 90% of the total value of the property with the lowest mortgage interest rate in the country. Financing can be done in pesos and UVR, with a term between 5 and 30 years.

According to what was reported by the FNA, precisely one of the benefits is the reduction of 70 basis points (0.7%) in the current credit rate.

The initial payment that the young person must deliver is only 10% and they can choose Social Interest Housing -VIS- or non-VIS, new or used house or housing leasing.

Requirements to access housing credit for young people?

In order to access housing credit for young people, interested parties must meet a series of conditions.

  • You must be affiliated with the FNA, which can be through Severance or Contractual Voluntary Savings-AVC-.
  • Be between 18 and 28 years old.
  • Applies for mortgage credit and Housing Leasing.
  • In the case of applying for a new home, as an employee, you must have 8 months of work in the last year.
  • If you are independent, you must have worked in that capacity for at least 2 years.
  • It cannot be reported in risk centers.
