Housing tax: a massive blow for thousands of second home owners

Happy owners of a second home, your housing tax could increase next year. Since this summer, the list of municipalities which can vote for a surcharge has been expanded. Until now, only 1,434 towns, located in towns of more than 50,000 inhabitants where housing was particularly difficult, had the possibility of voting for this increase ranging from 5 to 60%. But since the 2023 finance bill, this tax tool has been granted to towns of less than 50,000 souls.
