Houston Texans Ruled out Quarterback C.J. Stroud for Sunday’s Game Against Cleveland

The Houston Texans have announced that quarterback C.J. Stroud has been ruled out of Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns. Stroud suffered a concussion in the team’s Week 14 loss to the New York Jets and remained in the protocol after missing Week 15 against the Tennessee Titans.

Texans coach DeMeco Ryans stated earlier this week that Stroud’s injury would not end his season, emphasizing the importance of ensuring Stroud’s health. In place of Stroud, quarterback Case Keenum started during the Texans’ overtime win against the Titans on Sunday.

In addition to Stroud, defensive end Will Anderson Jr. and linebacker Blake Cashman have also been ruled out of Sunday’s game. Wide receiver Nico Collins, linebacker Denzel Perryman, and defensive tackle Maliek Collins were listed as questionable for the game.

The Texans currently hold the No. 8 spot in the AFC and are one game behind the Browns in the crowded AFC wild-card playoff picture. They are also in a three-way tie with the Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars atop the AFC South.

The Texans will look to secure a win without Stroud as they continue to push for a spot in the playoffs.
