The Houthi militia, loyal to Iran, held funerals for 90 of its fighters in the capital Sana’a and the districts around Sana’a during the last month in the period between January 2 and 29, 2024

The Houthi militia admitted that about 90 of its members were killed in January 2024, 82% of them in battles against the forces of the government that controls half of Yemen, and 18% in US-British attacks in response to the organization’s attacks on Red Sea ships and in the Gulf of Aden.

The Al Arabiya channel reported that the Houthi militia, loyal to Iran, held funerals for 90 of its fighters in groups almost every day, in the capital Sana’a and in the districts of Sana’a, during the period between the 2nd – 29th of 2024.

74 fighters fell in battles with government forces, 16 fighters were killed in attacks carried out by American and British forces as part of the “Guardian of Prosperity” in response to the Houthi attacks.

Statistics monitored by the Yemen Future media platform indicate that the death toll of the Houthi militias last January was the highest monthly rate in more than a year. The organization has never announced such a large number of deaths since the end of the UN ceasefire in October 2022.

Al Arabiya reported that the Houthi militia lost a total of 775 fighters, most of them field commanders, who were in clashes with government forces, from the end of the UN ceasefire in October 2022 until January 2024.
