/ The Yemeni Ansar Allah group (Houthis) announced on Monday that it had shot down an American plane and hit a British ship with missiles in the Gulf of Aden, indicating that it was “at risk of sinking.”
A statement by the group, seen by Agency, stated that “its naval forces targeted a British ship in the Gulf of Aden, “RUBYMAR”, with a number of appropriate naval missiles.”
“The operation resulted in the ship sustaining serious damage, which led to it coming to a complete standstill,” she added, explaining that “as a result of the extensive damage the ship sustained, it is now at risk of sinking in the Gulf of Aden.” The statement continued, “During the operation, we were keen to ensure that the ship’s crew exited safely.”
The statement pointed out that “the Yemeni air defenses in Hodeidah were able to shoot down an American aircraft (MQ9) with an appropriate missile while it was carrying out hostile missions against our country in favor of the Zionist entity,” according to the statement.
