Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree stated in an online statement that the group’s armed forces shot down a Saudi F-15 fighter jet while it conducted hostile operations supporting military build-ups in the Marib governorate airspace.

According to the Houthi military spokesman, the jet was targeted using a locally manufactured surface-to-air missile. Saree added that Houthi air defense units also engaged two separate Saudi combat formations consisting of F-15 and Typhoon aircraft in the skies above Marib as those planes searched for the wreckage of the downed fighter. The official asserted that local missiles forced the formations to withdraw.
The Houthi command accused the Saudi military of launching more than 450 airstrikes over the course of the week, utilizing F-15 and Typhoon jets taking off from Khamis Mushait and Taif military bases. The reported sorties struck targets across Taiz, Lahij, Al-Jawf, Hajjah, Marib, Saada, and Al-Bayda, resulting in civilian casualties, according to the group’s statements.
