Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen have released a propaganda video showing a Jaffa drone that allegedly hit Tel Aviv last week.

A drone called Jaffa struck a residential building in central Tel Aviv early Friday morning, killing one person and injuring several others. A video shows the drone on display and claims it was the one launched into Tel Aviv.

The IDF confirmed that the drone was a modified Iranian Samad-3 drone. The drone was modified to increase its range, allowing it to fly some 2,600 kilometers. It flew over Africa, Egypt and the Mediterranean Sea before reaching Israeli territory from the west.

Incidentally, Arab media recently reported that the Houthis are planning new strikes on important targets in Israel and the region. In response to Israel’s attack on the port of Hodeida on the west coast of Yemen, Houthi military leaders added new targets to their list.

The Yemeni rebel group, cooperating with other members of the “Axis of Resistance” and Iranian-backed militias in Lebanon, Iraq and Syria, plans to strike the Israeli Mediterranean ports of Ashdod, Ashkelon and Haifa, as well as the Red Sea port of Eilat.

The Houthis have also targeted Israeli gas fields in the Mediterranean and oil tankers carrying fuel from Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan to Israel via the Eastern Mediterranean. The route is longer than the Suez Canal but has become popular after the Houthis began attacking ships passing through the Red Sea that are linked to Israel, the US or the UK.

The Houthis are reportedly targeting maritime trade in the Mediterranean and Indian Ocean, with the group planning to use long-range missiles to target “enemy maritime trade” heading toward the Cape of Good Hope along the African coast.

In addition, “Cursor” reported that Ukrainian sailors repelled an attack by the Houthis in the Red Sea.
