Yemeni rebel leader Abdel Malik al-Houthi has vowed a military response to the dangerous escalation he says Israel has sparked. This happens after yesterday the leader of the Palestinian armed group “Hamas” Ismail Haniyeh was killed in Tehran in a strike attributed to Israeli forces, reported France Press.

“Our position regarding these crimes is clear,” the leader of the pro-Iranian rebel movement said in a televised speech, BTA reported.

“There must be a military response to these crimes, which are dangerous, brazen and represent a serious escalation by the Israeli enemy,” he stressed.

Haniya’s assassination in Tehran was carried out using an explosive device secretly planted weeks earlier, CNN reported.

According to a source familiar with the matter, the bomb was hidden in a guest house where Haniya was staying about two months ago and was detonated remotely after he entered his room.

The Iranian government and Hamas claim the assassination was carried out by Israel. The country neither confirmed nor denied its involvement.
