The European Union is planning to launch a mission in the Red Sea in February, in response to the Houthi attacks.

For now, the discussion is being carried out at the diplomatic level.

EU countries point to a possible naval mission of a defensive nature in the Red Sea, with a view to protecting merchant ships from Houthi attacks. However, an attack on Yemen is not on the table, as the United States and the United Kingdom have done.

“Instead of European Union countries moving to add fuel to the fire, they should move seriously to put an end to the crimes of genocide in Gaza, and then we will stop all our military operations immediately and automatically,” said Mohamed al-Bukhaiti, a member of the Houthi political cabinet, on his official account on the X social network.

European countries must “understand that moral and human values are fixed and do not change depending on a person’s nationality and religion, and that the treatment given to them, with an extreme selectivity that is equivalent to schizophrenia, will widen the scope of wars in the world , which will extend to Europe”added Mohamed al-Bukhaiti.

Since yesterday, Friday, January 19, the Houthis have been attacking ships in the Red Sea and Bab al Mandeb Strait that they say have links to Israel.
