jpnn.comJAKARTA – Padjadjaran University political observer Yusa Djuyandi spoke about former West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil’s chances if he contests in Jakarta.

According to him, the man known as Kang Emil has a greater chance of winning the West Java Governor-Deputy Governor Election than the DKI Jakarta Regional Election.

“In West Java, it could be said that Ridwan Kamil already has experience, knows the terrain and the people. People in West Java also know and understand Kang Emil’s performance better. So, the chance of being selected is greater,” said Yusa when contacted by ANTARA from Jakarta, Thursday.

Apart from that, Yusa believes that the Golkar Party politician who is familiarly called Kang Emil does not have many competitors when fighting in the West Java regional elections.

“In my opinion, Kang Emil’s competitors in West Java are not as numerous as in Jakarta. In West Java, the toughest competitor is Kang Dedi Mulyadi,” he said.

He believes that Dedi Mulyadi is a tough competitor for Kang Emil because he served as Regent of Purwakarta for two terms.

“Apart from having experience as Regent of Purwakarta for two terms, once as Cawagub (deputy governor candidate), Kang Dedi Mulyadi is also a member of the DPR RI with a large number of votes. “This shows that he has a strong constituent base,” he explained.

Previously, the Central Leadership Council of the Golkar Party assigned Ridwan Kamil to run as a candidate for the 2024 regional elections in Jakarta and West Java.
