How brave: Chiara Franny stood (almost) naked in front of an entire nation Fashion Forward

by time news

It’s easy to forget sometimes that fashion is much more than pretty clothes, and that female influencers have the ability to, well, really make an impact on substantive issues. Lucky Chiara Franny is here to remind us of that from time to time.

Yesterday she did it in a big way with the opening of the San Remo Festival – an important and popular musical event in Italy that is spread over five days, broadcast and watched by millions throughout the country. Kiara was one of the presenters of the evening, and she took advantage of the large stage given to her to promote a topic that is close to her heart – the status of women. She did this, among other things, through the clothes designed for her by Maria Grazia Chiuri, the creative director of the fashion house Dior – items that are works of art full of statement.

The first dress that Kiara wore last night is called the “manifesto dress” – a black silk dress with a strapless cut, and above it a question with the inscription “Consider yourself free”. “We wanted to inspire women to break free from the limits that society and patriarchy define for them, to be themselves without feeling guilty or judgmental,” explained the Instagram account of the fashion anchor. But this was only a preparation of the ground for what would fall upon it afterwards.

The second dress of the evening arrived, and left no room for indifference – a tight-fitting dress in a moving shade, which by means of embroidered beads created an illusion simulating the wearer’s body. You know the recommendation to imagine the audience naked so as not to stress? So the opposite. Kiara stood in front of the nation, bare-faced, and delivered a brave and moving monologue – a letter to the child she was. “Many people know me. Not everyone loves me, but today I finally love myself,” she said there. “Throughout my life I sometimes felt that I wasn’t good enough, not beautiful enough or not smart enough. But every time I thought something bad about myself, I thought about you too – and you don’t deserve it.”

Later, Franny talked about the challenges that accompany her as a successful careerist mother. “Society has taught us that once you become a mother, you are just a mother, and that brings a lot of guilt. You are a good mother even if you are not perfect,” the girl assured Kiara, “You will have many battles to fight, sexism has become normalized, but remember that being a woman is not a limitation And try to change things. I’m still trying even now.”

After the powerful speech, Kiara went on to the third outfit, the “dress of hate” – an asymmetric white dress on which were embroidered with black pearls real reviews of surfers for posts on her Instagram account, harsh words that she absorbs every day. Among other things it says: “Why don’t you enlarge your tit?”, “It’s photoshop, her real ass is drooping”, “Are you a mother or an escort girl?”, “Isn’t it enough for you to be famous? Why do you take pictures of yourself naked?” And “soon you will do porn”.

The last look for the evening was the “cage” – an overall decorated with crystals accompanied by the skeleton of a crinoline skirt covered with tulle fabric. Chiara also uploaded to her Instagram account a photo session of herself with her little daughter Vittoria, dressed in a matching outfit, where it was written: “The idea that Maria Grazia Curie wanted to convey here is the liberation of future generations from the stereotypes in which women are often imprisoned. The dress represents the hope of breaking the conventions that the patriarchy imposes On us, hope for the little girls of today, who will be the women of tomorrow.” In such troubled days around the world, it definitely strengthens and gives a feeling of light at the end of the tunnel.
