Most of the world’s entertainment activities are apps from companies headquartered in China. Tiktok app is one of them. The lead company in this process is ByteDance. The company is headquartered in China.

Each app has been accused of improperly collecting data without users’ consent. Some countries have accused the practice of possible espionage. They also said that this is a threat to the country.

Due to this, some countries including India banned the TikTok app in 2020. Some US states have banned TikTok. Also, there were calls to ban this app across the US.

At that time, if the Chinese company sells the Tiktok application on behalf of the United States, it is not prohibited to operate in the United States. But the parent company of the TikTok app denied the allegations.

Since then, the TikTok app ban has been largely unspoken. But recently MPs have started talking again about banning TikTok. Due to this, it was planned to bring a bill to ban Tik Tok app in the Parliament.

Accordingly, the bill was tabled in Parliament yesterday. 352 people voted in favor of the bill. 65 people voted against. Thus the bill was passed.

The bill must also be tabled and passed in the Senate. This is done and a blank is sent for signature of the Principal. Tik Tok will be banned once the President signs it.

ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, should withdraw from TikTok. Otherwise, the bill states that it will leave the United States. If TikTok is to continue operating in the US, Python must sell it.

Earlier in 2020, Donald Trump tried to ban this app. But it could not succeed due to court intervention.
