What is Ransomware Attack-
Ransomware is a malware that can affect any institution or user. After this attack, there is trouble in opening any type of file on the computer. That is, if this has happened on the banking system, then the banks become unable to get the user’s data from it. That is, this is a type of cyber attack. If this happens, the attackers can keep the user’s data with themselves and can make any kind of demand from the system to get it. In simple language, this is done to steal the user’s data.
Ransomware is currently the easiest way for hackers to launch a cyber attack. Earlier, this attack has happened on hospitals, public service offices and now banking systems. With its help, scammers are looking for a cyber attack on any institution. Such attacks are being seen more after Covid-19.
What happened ?
Reuters claimed in its report that C-Edge Technologies has been attacked with ransomware. It provides IT support to small banks across the country. Another report said that due to this, the customers of these banks are facing problems in using online services like UPI, IMPS, NEFT or they are not able to do so. However, RBI has not yet confirmed any such attack.
