In one of the pictures published on the website of the parliament, a member of the parliamentary commission Arslanbek Maliev poses with a gold bar in his hands, while in the vault of the National Bank.

The deputy commission was created against the backdrop of revealed financial irregularities in the company and a scandal with the sale in 2021 of 19.2 tons of gold worth more than $1 billion “to an unknown country”. After these facts, the deputies and the opposition demanded a report from the authorities.

In response to these demands, President Sadyr Japarov proposed to create a commission on this issue and include members of the opposition and members of the public.

The deputy commission included: Balbak Tulobayev (Yintymak), Nadira Narmatova (“Ata-Jurt Kyrgyzstan”), Alimzhanova Nilufar (“Alliance”), Arslanbek Maliyev (“Eldik”), Ishaq Masaliev (“All Kyrgyzstan”) and Karim Khandzeza ( “Patriot”).

As of January 26, 2023, 43 thousand 944.13 kg of gold reserves are stored in the National Bank.
