Russia has been waging war on Ukraine for the past 24 days. On the first day the main cities of Ukraine were bombed by missiles and planes.

The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a U.S. airport, ports and military bases. Russia says more than 80 military logistics structures have been destroyed.

Russian forces then entered major cities. Russian forces have been on high alert, especially to capture the capital, Kiev.

As well as other major cities, Russian troops are infiltrating and intensifying attacks. Ukrainian soldiers are also fighting hard against them. Thus gunfights are going on in the streets.

And the Ukrainian civilians have jumped into the war. They also roam the streets with guns and fight against Russian forces.

Despite Ukraine’s internal structures being paralyzed by Russia’s attacks, the military continues to fight.

Russian forces waging war on Ukraine have so far taken control of some Ukrainian cities. But the capital Kiev and the 2nd largest city, Kharkiv, have not yet been captured.

The Russian military is constantly attacking to bring these cities under their control. The missile was fired at an oil depot in Kharkiv yesterday.

The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a gas station near Kiev. The oil depot was completely damaged. It was also reported that toxic fumes had escaped from the gas pipe. Fighting continued in Kiev and Kharkiv yesterday.

In this situation, Russia is continuing its offensive for the 6th consecutive day today. Ukraine said yesterday that the intensity of Russia’s offensive had eased slightly.

But reports from Russia suggest that the offensive has intensified since midnight. Today, missiles are reported to have been fired at several locations.

The Foreign Ministry has said that an Indian student was killed in a Russian shelling attack in Kharkiv this morning. The ministry is in touch with his family. We extend our deepest condolences to the family.

Naveen Sekarappa, an Indian student from Karnataka, was killed in a bomb blast on his way to and from Kharkiv, the Foreign Ministry said on Twitter. Naveen Sekarappa hails from Haveri district in the state of Karnataka.

Responding to the news, senior Congress leader Sasi Tharoor said, “This is a terrible tragedy. My heart goes out to the families of the victims and all those trapped in Ukraine. We must do everything we can to bring them home.”

About 16,000 Indian students, including 2,000 Tamil Nadu students, are still stranded in Ukraine. Since the start of the Russian offensive last Thursday, many students have been sharing photos and videos of hidden underground bunkers, staying in metro stations on social media. So far, 8,000 Indians have fled, the foreign ministry said on Monday.

Many Indian students are stranded in eastern Ukraine, which has been hit hard by Russian military strikes, and it is difficult for them to cross the road to reach the western border. Students also walk to the boundaries in the absence of a companion.

Yesterday, the embassy told students to go to the train station in Kiev, where special evacuation trains have been arranged by Ukraine to take people to the west. Students were asked to bring their passport, enough money and the right warm clothes.

Many students did not allow themselves to board the trains or complained that they had been mistreated by the authorities.

However, the embassy confirmed that more than 1,000 students left Kiev for western Ukraine yesterday. There have been about 400 students near the embassy since last week.

Before being brought back to India under Operation Ganga, Indian students were transferred to Hungary, Poland, Romania, the Slovak Republic – all countries that share a border with Ukraine.
