How did the pirate car agency operate in Mexico City?

Personnel from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) of Mexico City found a pirate car agency after a search procedure in a property supposedly intended for the sale of vehicles in the Tlalpan mayor’s office.

This operation was the result of exhaustive investigative and intelligence work, in response to multiple citizen complaints that warned about the car theft and fraudulent practices in commercial transactions of this type.

According to the complaints received by the SSC-CDMX, an individual allegedly linked to the activity of Buying and selling vehicles was involved in fraudulent conduct, receiving payments for units that were then not delivered to buyers.

Based on this information, provided by an agent of the Public Ministry of the Attorney General’s Office (FGJ) of Mexico City, a search warrant was requested and obtained by a Control Judge, to intervene in a address located on Acoxpa road, Villa Coapa neighborhood.

We proceeded to arrest of a 57-year-old individualallegedly linked to the irregular sale of cars.

In addition, various evidence was seized at the scene, including invoices from different units, a blank circulation card, various documentation and a total of 14 vehicleswho remained in the custody of the authorities while the pertinent investigations are carried out.

The detainee was informed of his legal rights and placed at the disposal of the corresponding Public Ministry agent, who will determine his legal situation and continue the investigation of the case.

It is highlighted that, according to a cross-check of information, it was found that this individual has accumulated a total of 41 investigation folders, 39 of which were for crimes related to abuse of trust and fraud, one for family violence and another for vehicle theft.
