DECRYPTION – In the field, doctors describe a population in difficulty and call for preventive measures in the workplace.
Over the past ten years, expenses linked to work stoppages have increased significantly. Nobody disputes that. On the other hand, opinions differ on the causes of this increase, and especially on the means to limit it. The government is pointing the finger at certain doctors who find it too easy to stop, and wants to track down abuses. But health professionals consider this analysis terse and too easy.
“Challenging the doctors is in some way breaking the thermometer, but it will not bring down the fever”, insists Dr Agnès Giannotti, president of the MG-France union. While they do not deny the existence of careless doctors and lazy employees, the professionals interviewed by Le Figaro believe that this is a marginal phenomenon. “We are not here to police.
