One of the axes to strengthen in San Francisco is security. In this regard, the municipality presented the “Eyes on Alert” program that promotes the participation of neighbors to report criminal acts.
This is the second step taken in the city of Eastern Cordoba in terms of security since months ago the first “Urban Prevention Corps” had been launched. Regarding the latter, the agents have not yet taken to the streets because the modification of the Provincial Security Law is expected.
The presentation was led by Mayor Damián Bernarte who assured: “we believe that security is also a collective construction and that in reality the best results are achieved through the participation of ordinary residents, with a present and attentive State, which “At the same time, collaborate with the security forces.”
Program details
The idea of “Eyes on alert” was taken from a policy of the municipality of San Miguel (Buenos Aires). The people of Buenos Aires gave up the possibility of applying this program in San Francisco for free through an agreement.
It is worth noting that some time ago San Francisco municipal officials were there to learn how it was implemented. In addition, it operates in 39 cities in the country.
The objective of this communication channel is to generate an alert network to avoid insecurity situations.
