Weightlifting brought joy to Artemisa, with the performance of Maikol Salcedo Salcedo Saldívar, from Bauta, who won the three disputed gold medals, in the jump, clean and jerk and overall. He added the silver and bronze medals from Roilan Simon López, from Guajaibón, in Mariel, as well as the silver and bronze medals from Bárbara Hasty Cuesta.
The fighter Artemiseña Yaneidis Millán Quiñones showed who rules the mat in the 57 kilogram division, and took the crown in the competition. She was one of the three gladiators who succeeded in breaking the almost total dominance of the hosts from Santiago.
Erika Soriegue and Yailenis Martínez added silver in the 36 and 43 kg, respectively, while Leidis Ocaña won the bronze in the 50 kg.
On the podium in points, after the locals (52 units) were Havana (38) and Artemisa (29). In the medal table the young province was also in third place (1-2-1).

After the action in field hockey, pentathlon, tennis, karate, weightlifting, fencing, boxing, shooting, beach volleyball, sailing, skating and taekwondo, Artemisa is only among the top three provinces in the last two.
