The program called “Paris-Orly By Cycle 2030” includes the construction of new cycle paths connecting the airports and activity zones to neighboring communities.

The ADP group, manager in particular of the Paris airports of Roissy and Orly, announced Thursday the launch of a plan intended to make it more accessible to youlive the Orly platform for employees and local residents. At a cost of 12 million euros financed by ADP, the program called “Paris-Orly By Cycle 2030» provides in particular for the construction of new, continuous and secure cycle paths connecting the airports and business areas to neighboring communities.

The southern Paris airport must have nearly 6 kilometers of new cycle paths by 2030, compared to 1 kilometer today. The program also includes the installation of hoops and the installation of showers, according to the group.

Land access to Paris-Orly airport – passengers and employees – currently represents 41% of the platform’s ground CO2 emissions, which management wants to reduce to zero in 2030. An important decarbonization lever is to promote soft mobility among its approximately 90,000 employees. Currently 90% of them come to work by car. The development of public transport, starting with the extension of metro line 14 in mid-2024, will help a lot.

«Furthermore, 4,500 employees of the platform (around 20%) are domiciled within a radius of less than 10 kilometers, providing plenty of potential for developing bicycle use.», Judges ADP management in a press release.
