French newspapers today preach the environmental good word with lengthy articles. Large sections are devoted to the ecological transition, the green economy and the responsible behaviors to adopt in order to curb global warming.

But what about the press groups themselves? In what ways are they committed to reducing their carbon footprint? From an ecological point of view, the press faces two main challenges. When it is not distributed in digital form, it is by nature very paper-consuming and greedy in transport in order to deliver copies of newspapers as close as possible to French people who wish to be informed.
