This is a real revolution in dental care: Social Security wants to encourage dentists to do more prevention and to favor conservative care over the fitting of prostheses (crowns, inlays, bridges). While France is a bad student in Europe on oral health, the public authorities want to achieve a generation without cavities. Beyond individual well-being, the goal is also to save money by avoiding prostheses in adulthood. This ambitious objective is at the heart of the new dental agreement, signed Friday afternoon, between Medicare, complementary health insurance and two dental unions (FSDL and CDF).
This agreement provides for an investment of 613 million over five years (2023-2028), including 383 million at the expense of Health Insurance and 230 million at the expense of complementary.
