For an indefinite contract or work at home: have at least 12 continuous or discontinuous contributions before ending the employment relationship with one or several employers. For a fixed-term contract, specific work or service: have 6 continuous or discontinuous contributions with one or more employers. The contributions are counted from the last period in which the member had access to the benefit. In the case of being the first request, they will be considered from the date of your insurance affiliation until the month in which the employment contract ended.

What are the amounts of Unemployment Insurance?

The Unemployment Insurance amounts correspond to monthly drafts from the Individual Account, and are based on the following percentages of the remuneration of the last 12 months:

First month: 70% Second month: 55% Third month: 45% Fourth month: 40% Fifth month: 35% Sixth month onwards: 30%

How is the Unemployment Insurance money collected?

To receive Unemployment Insurance funds, follow these steps:

Enter the Virtual Branch of AFC Chile affiliates with your RUT and your AFC access code (which you can request on the same site) or enter with your Unique Code. Complete your information and enter the settlement or document that proves the layoff. You can check on the AFC website when your application is approved, including the date and method of payment. This information is also available at any of the AFC branches.

Additionally, you can personally go to an AFC branch with your valid identity card and the settlement or document that proves the layoff.
