How to Apply for the My Postage Scheme and Create Your Own Stamp – Indian Postal Department

Various rules have been laid down by the Department of Posts for uploading photo in “My Postage” scheme.

On behalf of the Indian Postal Department, the public is implementing a project called My Stamp to create a stamp using their photo. Prakash, Head Postmaster at Chennai Annasalai Head Post Office shared various information with us about my postage stamp project.

Question: What is the “My Postage” scheme?
Answer: My Stamp is a scheme implemented by the Indian Postal Department. This scheme was started in 2011. Through this scheme, the public can submit their photograph or their family photograph to the postal officials and get them as postage stamps.

How to apply?

My Postage Program is being implemented in all post offices in every district. Public should go to the post office and fill out the postal form for My Postage Stamp Scheme.

The application fee is Rs 300. After that you have to show your identity card. Then the application will be issued by the postal officer.

If the public fills the application and submits their photograph, a sheet of stamps containing 12 stamps will be issued along with the photograph on the same day. People can get as many stamps as they want with their photo.

Question: Are there any terms and conditions in the My Stamp scheme?
Answer: Definitely. There are various rules laid down by the Department of Posts for uploading photos in the “My Postage” scheme.

Stamps can only be issued to those who are still alive in the My Stamp program. Postage stamps cannot be obtained for deceased persons.

Any photo featuring phones that involve illegal activities, violent activities, offensive activities, immoral activities, dishonest activities, deceptive activities, defamation of patriotism, political and personal attacks cannot be converted into stamps.

Similarly, a copyrighted photograph cannot be used by a non-copyrighted person. The public who provides the photo is solely responsible for the photo.

What kind of template can we use?

There are many types of templates in this program. Various templates like Red Fort, Tanjore Great Temple, Flower Types, Taj Mahal, Diesel Engine, Wedding Design, Ajanta Caves can be used by public to use their photo for postage stamps.

Question: Is there a discount on “My Stamp” scheme?
Answer: There is a discount for those who get more than 100 stamps under the My Stamp scheme run by the Department of Posts.

10 percent discount on orders of 100 sheets of stamps of the same template. Also if you want to get stamps from 101 to 200 with same template you can get that too. A 20 percent discount will also be given on this.

Can corporates benefit from the “My Postage” scheme?

You can definitely get it. Corporate Customized Mystamp program is implemented for this. A minimum order of 5,000 stamps is required through this scheme. It also has a 20 percent discount.

15 lakhs worth of this plan will get a discount of 3 lakhs rupees. Companies can get 5,000 stamps for Rs 12 lakh. For this, separate application should be submitted to respective Post Office Head Officer.

Question: Can we use My Stamp stamps?
Can be used liberally. A pack of twelve stamps contains stamps worth Rs 60. They can be used by the public for their correspondence services.
