Will we one day be rid of calls, SMS and emails around the personal training account (CPF)? A bill, examined from the beginning of October in the National Assembly, plans to prohibit this canvassing. But by the time it is discussed and (eventually) adopted, the insistent solicitations are likely to continue for at least several months.
Because the establishment of the CPF, which makes training rights easier to use by each employee, has also opened the door to abuse. Canvassers are looking for “to push individuals to buy training against their will”, sums up the bill. It is then a matter of training of poor quality, or which does not correspond to their needs.
Rights never expired
To exert pressure, many canvassers claim that training rights will be lost if you don’t use them quickly. The argument is fallacious: “The rights are never expired: they are acquired until retirement”specifies a spokesperson for the Caisse des dépôts, the organization which manages the CPF system.
Others go so far as to offer vouchers or gifts to encourage people to decide. “No serious training organization offers an iPad in exchange for your registration! », protested at the Caisse des dépôts.
Fictional formations
The most sophisticated frauds involved “the organization of fictitious training sessions with usurpation of the identity of CPF beneficiaries, making it possible to obtain the release of funds”, notes the financial fraud prevention agency Tracfin in its latest annual report. This explains why some canvassers seek to obtain personal information such as the social security number. If you have communicated this information to a canvasser, change your password for the My training account platform as soon as possible.
The Caisse des dépôts even advises to hang up as soon as a direct seller speaks to you about the CPF, and not to answer any SMS or email on the subject. Especially since another usual “trick” of canvassers consists of claiming to be in contact with an official body: the My Training Account platform, the Ministry of Labor or Pôle Emploi.
