Endnight Games did well with the release of Sons of the Forest, a new survival and horror game that takes up and expands on the principles of The Forest. In the game, you are lost on an unknown island in search of a billionaire and his family, your equipment and food scattered all over the map after a violent helicopter crash. Survival is extremely advanced in Sons of the Forest, forcing you to regularly find sources of food, water, and places to recover after long days of searching. Luckily for you, building a shelter isn’t the hardest thing in the game, here’s how.
How to build a makeshift tent in Sons of the Forest?
During your first steps on the island after the crash of your helicopter, you will find some of your food and your possessions around the smoking carcass. By searching the different boxes and suitcases, you will find a tarpaulin, which you will absolutely have to recover in your bag. Once the tarp is recovered, we advise you to continue down the slope of the mountain and head for the warmer places at the edge of the forest. You can then build your first shelter in a fairly intuitive way:
- Collect large wooden sticks (2 minimum)
- Open your bag (I) and equip your tarp with left click
- Lay your tarp flat on the ground with left click
- Open your bag (I) and equip yourself with a stick
- Place the stick on one of the corners of the tarp with left click
- Repeat with another stick on another corner
Here you are, the owner of a magnificent shelter that will allow you to save your game and sleep in game!
