For example, a good perfume that comes out of a bakery or a rotisserie, a successful advertisement for a food, a well presented dish with captivating colors, the influence of convivial situations, and so on.


Emotion regulation

It is not easy to distinguish between the two stimuli, especially since they both lead to the same result: eat more than the body requires. Hunger is an internal physiological stimulus that leads to the physical need to eat; the so-called “disinhibition” is instead an “opportunistic” way of feeding, which it involves the regulation of emotions and which concerns the availability and palatability of what is available. In the first case we eat, so to speak, “what is there”; in the second, one exaggerates if attracted by a particular food. And it must be said that today the choice is enormous and that food advertising is made on purpose to seduce.
