The service, in practice, addresses the data processing for advertising purposes that are recognized in Regulation (EU) 2016/679, and allows users to be protected, if they wish, from commercial communications. Since 2007 there has been a regulation, within the Spanish data protection law, that obliges companies to consult these lists and since 2018 they can end up sanctioned if they fail to comply with it. Signing up for the list is relatively easy, as the process is completed in a short time and only requires some information. To do it you have to consult the website Robinson List and provide the data so that companies cannot use according to which numbers to send their advertising. Advertisers and service providers may have access to the list to find out which calls are banned.
Likewise, even if at the time a consumer had given permission to a company to call him, the regulations allow him to be able to revoke this broadcast. This can be done even if commercial communications have been initially allowed.
Just by identifying yourself and register on the List, commercial companies are notified that the consumers involved do not want to receive any type of commercial communication. Those interested will have to give their full name, ID, email, date of birth and gender and, then, they will have to specify through which means they do not want to be contacted.
