In July and August, the world’s most important sporting event will take place in Paris: the Summer Olympics. Ticket sales are already at record levels before the start. t-online explains how you can still get tickets.

Almost 11,000 athletes, 32 sports and an incredible 329 medal decisions: The Olympic Games in Paris are setting new standards for major sporting events.

This is also due to the fact that many sports venues are located in iconic places in the French capital: beach volleyball is played right next to the Eiffel Tower and equestrian competitions take place in the garden of the magnificent Palace of Versailles – surrounded by temporary stands.

The opening ceremony on July 26th will also involve the famous river Seine (you can read why it is also a problem here), on which the Olympians will ring in the games of the 33rd Olympia, equivalent to entering the stadium – it doesn’t get much more spectacular than that.

Demand for tickets is correspondingly high. In the week before the official opening, 8.6 million tickets had already been sold. This beat the record set at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta (8.3 million) even before the starting signal was given.

And the closer the games come, the more the question arises for many Olympic fans: Are there still tickets available for the Olympic Games in Paris? And if so, how do I get them?

The good news is: Yes, there are still tickets available. A remaining stock of the almost ten million tickets is available via the official platform. However, Olympic fans will have to dig deep into their pockets for them.

For the evening of the men’s 100-meter final at the Stade de France, for example, there are still tickets with unrestricted views available, selling from 500 euros each. It is much cheaper to watch team sports live in the stadium.

For example, for the opening match between the Spanish footballers and Uzbekistan, which will be played two days before the opening ceremony on July 24 in the Parc des Princes in Paris, tickets are still available from 24 euros (as of July 19, 2024, 12:30 p.m.).
