Flipkart, an online retailer, offers customers the opportunity to sell used smartphones online. The value of the smartphone you sell under this plan will be given to you as a Flipkart electronic gift voucher. The program has been implemented in over 1,700 pincode addresses across the country.
You can sell your smartphone through this online program even if you bought it on Flipkart or elsewhere. Announcements to expand the program to many more products are expected to be released later this year.
What is the purpose of the project?
The project aims to address electronic waste, also known as e-waste, by recycling it and enabling customers to make money from old products.
Studies show that there are 125 million smartphones in use in India, of which only 20 million come for recycling. Approximately 85 percent of used smartphones are simply thrown on the ground causing environmental pollution.
To sell your phone …
1. Login inside the Flipkart app on the smartphone
2. Now go to the menu bar and click on the Cell Back option there
3. This will take you to the Cell Pack project page.
4. Click on Cell Now to start the process.
5. Answer questions including the brand name and IMEI number of your smartphone.
6. Select your location and select Agree on Terms and Conditions.

Now what value is given to your smartphone will be displayed on the screen. Now your work is done. Over the next 48 hours, an agent will come directly and pick up your smartphone. Following this, you will be given an electronic gift voucher. You can use it on the Flipkart site.
