A smaller shot
String mowers have a smaller cutting area than conventional mowers, around 25-35 cm. It has its big advantage in that the machine will be much more manageable for you.

String mowers cut grass using a string that gradually unwinds. And one day it will happen. But nothing serious happens at that moment – you just need to buy a new string. It is a good idea to buy a spare string in advance. It may happen that you also come across a lawnmower model with plastic blades.
Electricity, petrol or battery?
Battery-powered mowers are usually the best possible choice in terms of practicality, noise and handling. They cut in around 45 minutes, are charged in half an hour and weigh around 2 kg. However, for large plots of land, conventional gasoline pays off. And electricity? Also a great solution for those who don’t want to charge anything and don’t mind the ubiquitous cable.

How to mow with a string mower
- Before you start mowing, put on a long-sleeved T-shirt (or shirt), long pants, and prepare safety glasses and gloves.
- Check that your string is long enough. If not, enable it by pressing the button repeatedly.
- Make a plan of action. Where do you start, where do you end? It is better to think everything in advance.
- Sometimes a line stretched around the edges of the beds will help you work accurately.
- To prevent the string from unwinding too quickly, work in longer intervals and do not interrupt the repeated operation of the mower. Stop working only when the string starts to shorten.
You’re done, now what?
- Inspect and clean the underside of the protective cover. All grass remains must be gone. Also pay attention to the small knife that shortens the string.
- Store the mower in a dry and shady place.
How to take care of the lawnmower battery?
If you are using a cordless string mower, then never store a dead battery. After finishing work, always take it out and put it on the charger. It is also a reasonable preparation for the next time. Store the battery in a place where the temperature is never below zero and does not exceed 40 °C.
