Representatives of the Rural Support Service (RAS) state that the RAD received one application for participation in the program, which was withdrawn by the applicant at the end of August on his own initiative, citing the ambiguous and negative attitude of a part of society towards the implementation of the program in the current conditions. Societies or foundations could apply for the program.
The planned goal of the program was to introduce preschool students and students of the first to ninth grades about rye bread as a traditional, important and region-specific bread and its importance in nutrition.
It has already been reported that the project, for which the government allocated 300,000 euros, previously caused an ambiguous public attitude, with some people questioning the usefulness of spending.
Representatives of the Ministry of Education previously stated that the program was created to teach children to eat rye bread, as well as to find out the popularity of rye bread among young people.
LAD is a state institution under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture, which administers state and European Union support for rural areas, agriculture, forestry and fisheries.
