HP INC. facilitated access to higher education for young Ecuadorians. It delivered 11,000 laptops to students in their last year of high school from 13 educational units in Los Ríos.
Through this provision of technological instruments, the objective is to motivate young people to continue with their higher education and use the equipment as a support and personal training tool.
Prefect Johnny Terán Salcedo was in charge of delivering the computers. He stated that this project is thought “as a need for young people from Rio de Janeiro in an era where connectivity, teaching and learning are in constant execution and development.”
This action is part of the company’s social impact strategy and the “Soy Los Ríos Digital” project. Other examples of this vision are reflected in his digital equity proposal, with which he has led projects to reduce the digital divide in several Latin American countries.

The delivery of the technological devices was complemented by the installation of new Internet points by the telecommunications company Telconet free of charge.
To these is added the training of teachers through the HP LIFE program focused on entrepreneurship, which includes courses on Marketing in Social Networks, Business Communication and Basic Aspects of Finance, among others.
