Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) hyperperformance team (HP) will fly to Australia after a week. HP will play three one-day matches including two four-day matches in this tour. Batting coach Rajin Saleh sees long-term benefits in this tour of about 40 days.

Former cricketer Rajin has been involved in the coaching profession for a long time. He knows all the domestic cricketers. BCB signed a three-month contract with Rajin in the July 2 board meeting. The board wanted a long-term contract but Rajin did not respond.

Rajin practiced with the HP team for about three weeks in Rajshahi. The team will fly to Australia on July 13. In this tour, HP will play two four-day matches against Pakistan ‘A’ team and Pakistan Shaheens team and three one-day matches against Australia’s Northern Territory team.

‘It looks like an international tour. Many good cricketers will play here. Pakistan team is coming. There are many good bowlers in that team.’

“Also, they will be playing against good Australian bowlers. I think this is a positive aspect. We are going to improve the game. Not that we are saying we are going to win the series. Because, from here, how the cricketers will improve, move forward, turn around, I am thrilled about that place’- added Rajin.

Rajin thinks that the cricketers will get a better understanding of international cricket in this tour, ‘I must say, I think it is a very necessary tour. Cricketers will understand how to play international cricket. How to play well in that place. It is a great opportunity for cricketers. If they can use this month and a half, I think there is a good future for them.’

I think this is a challenging part. HP has a lot of work. There are opportunities to work here. Sharing my experience guys. When I came to HP, I didn’t get enough facilities because of the rain. We have practiced a lot for the last three weeks in Rajshahi. The kids enjoyed it. I was able to share my experience, they were able to take it. To share with them how to play international cricket. And it is a matter of time, to produce some cricketers. I will need time. Inshallah we will get something positive from here.’

Talking about Australia’s wickets in particular, Rajin said, ‘Of the wickets we have in our country, Rajshahi must have had a good wicket, a true wicket. Australia’s wicket will be a little different. The way the ball bounces on the country’s wicket, it bounces better in Australia. I am working on discussing with the cricketers how to play better. Let’s see how far they go.’
