Hamburger SV will have to do without midfielder Ludovit Reis and right-back Ignace Van der Brempt for the time being. As the second division soccer team announced, both players sustained “serious injuries” in Saturday’s home game against Fürth (2-0).
As in the summer, the 23-year-old Reis suffered an injury to his left shoulder and, according to the club, will “definitely be missing for the time being.” A possible operation is still being discussed. Van der Brempt (21) suffered a torn muscle fiber in his right back thigh and will be out of coach Tim Walter’s team for several weeks.
Reis had already injured his shoulder in the last pre-season test match against Glasgow Rangers (1:2) and was therefore missing from the first two league games and the cup game in Essen. “Being a spectator drives me crazy. I’m much more nervous than when I’m playing. I can’t sit still,” he said at the time. (dpa)
