Hubert Kos won a gold medal in the 200-meter backstroke at the Paris Olympics. The 21-year-old Hungarian athlete, world champion in 2023, won the Hungarian Olympic team’s fourth medal in the French capital.
Kós, who was fourth in the preliminaries and swam the best time in the semi-finals, set the pace on the course of four. It was in me that there are better people than me. Of course, I always wanted to beat them, but deep down I also felt that I had little chance of doing so. On the other hand, in America, I train with the best, and if I can beat them in everyday life, then I can do it in competition as well,” he said.
