Huge growth potential for air conditioning manufacturer Daikin

As incomes rise and climate change advances, the demand for air conditioning systems also increases. In 2021, 1.5 billion devices were installed worldwide. This emerges from a recent report by the International Energy Agency and Yale University. However, of the 3.5 billion people in the global south in 2021, only around 15 percent had air conditioning. In the future, it is precisely these people who will be increasingly exposed to heat stress.

But air conditioning not only puts people under stress, but also the power grids in developing countries. The International Energy Agency predicts that in 2030, 45 percent of households worldwide will have an air conditioning system – compared to 35 percent in 2021. It is therefore important to make the devices as efficient, energy-saving and environmentally friendly as possible. One beneficiary of this development is the Japanese company Daikin Industries, which has been building various types of air conditioning systems for almost 100 years.
