The fast lanes project of the Ministry of Transportation and the Ayalon Routes Company is an integrated mass transportation system, the goal of which is to bring about a change in the travel habits of the use of the private car in favor of traveling by public and cooperative transportation. The project is primarily intended to ease the traffic congestion at the entrances to the Tel Aviv metropolis. The total length of the new express lanes is approximately 90 kilometers, on the route between Rishon and Zion Derech Tel Aviv to Netanya and back.

The project includes convenient shuttle services using a set of electric and modern shuttles, with high frequency and at no cost to five central employment centers in Tel Aviv, as well as two huge parking lots in Shafiim Rishon Lezion, one of the largest of their kind in the world, which will allow parking for a total of about 12,000
vehicles. The project is expected to be completed in its entirety in 2025.
